Overview
Ask the Expert spoke to people who already knew the Human Givens approach. It needed a name and a look that someone new to mental health would search for, recognise and press play on.

The name
The answer was already in the room.
More than fifty names were tried. The one that stuck came from our Head of Marketing, who heard tutors and therapists use it to describe their own work. A first-time listener would get it straight away, and it became the brief for the identity.

The identity
Built around a smile.
The smile carries the show’s outlook: positive, human, hopeful. Early feedback flagged legibility at small sizes and a clashing colour pairing, so the lettering and colours were refined until the cover held up in a crowded feed.

Colour
Purple on green, on purpose.
Mental health brands lean towards calm blues and muted teals. This pairing breaks the habit: bold enough to stand out in a podcast feed, warm enough to feel human.
